I spent time in Pai on three separate occasions. Before and after one of my camping trips and then again for a longer stay with some friends. I did something different each time and feel like there was more that Pai, a small mountain town full of ex-pats, had to offer.
Sai Ngam Hot Springs
Natural Hot Springs
My friends Martin and Nick went to the hot springs with me on my way out of Pai to go camping.
They shared a motorbike and it had a hard time on the steep hill with both of them! haha
Tham Lot Cave
Proof I was there 🙂
Looking out at the entrance
A bamboo boat took us from one end of the cave to the other
I made some friends on the road and we explored the cave together
Ever winding road
The sharp curves really don’t come across in photos because they were also really steep
Met up with these ladies from South Africa whom I LOVE and are great travel buddies
Party in the jungle
Pai River
Mountain beauty
If you look closely you can see the White Buddha on the mountainside
The steps to the White Buddha
A long way to go on a really hot day
Almost there!
Looking back
Beautiful against the blue sky
Thai scaffolding!
You had to take your shoes off and this red tile was SOOOO HOT! We basically ran from little spot to little spot of shade!
Pai was an amazing small mountain town
For emergencies?
Pai Canyon had these narrow paths with steep drop offs on either side. It’s hard to explain but was a beautiful place for the sunset.
Once we discovered this band we went back to the bar multiple nights in a row. They did a blues night and then a funk and soul night. They rocked out and it was great!
She’s a monkey
My friend Chloe is so adventurous
Mae Pan Waterfall was a 3 hour hike but it was so worth it! We climbed and swam at the second tier and there were little flakes of gold in the water! Magical.
Adventure crew
Fun with photos and slingshots
The trail followed and crossed this river which was refreshing
